Simple Closing tips – Use an Alternative Close

If you haven’t seen the classic sales scene in “Glenngary Glen Ross” where the sales guy goes over the concept of always be closing, you can watch it below my post. You should be using always be closing in your business, perhaps not as intense as in the movie but you can effectively use it with an alternative close often while talking to prospects.

I was setting up internet today in my new house and they were using an alternative close in almost every statement they used. If you don’t know what an alternative close is, it is when you ask a question with an either or statement, for example would you like to get started with a or b? Be sure to use this style but definitely listen to your customers when you do it.

Network Marketing Closing tips: Use silence to your advantage

Another common issue people run into when it comes to network marketing closing is that they end up talking themselves out of the sale. One major key to closing in network marketing is to use silence to your advantage.

After the presentation don’t ask someone what they thought, ask them what did they like best. You can even give them examples of what they might like. For example you could say something like, what did you like best? The fun or the money? The business or the products? The fun or the freedom?

You can use the alternative closing technique mentioned above and then after you ask that question, stop talking. Let the silence be your friends and wait for your prospect to start talking. When it comes to closing you can think of it as after asking a closing question the first person to talk buys.

If you talk first you probably will end up buying their excuses of why they can’t get started, if they talk first they probably will end up buying from you or getting started with you. Less is more when it comes to closing in network marketing so don’t feel like you have to re-present again after the presentation and instead just ask them to get started.

I would realistically look at building a successful network marketing business as a 3-5 year project to build a successful 10k a month income. Sure, some will get there faster, but the majority of people will take at least 3 years to be able to make that happen.  This means you will need to do “COLD MARKET RECRUITING” in addition to Warm Market Recruiting, AND you will need a high volume lead generating system or you wont make it very far. Network Marketing is a numbers game, and without the Numbers and Leads you have no business. If you don’t already have a High Volume Lead Generating System for Your Business….
