Creating success overnight in network marketing doesn’t happen for most people. It’s really  more of a ladder of success you need to climb, and it takes time.  In this post you’ll learn how to climb the ladder of success and network marketing faster. How to climb the ladder of success in network marketing – Attitude

You probably heard it before, but attitude is everything. It’s really the first rung of the success ladder in network marketing.  If you don’t have a positive and motivated attitude, people aren’t going to follow you.

One thing to really understand in network marketing, is that people follow leaders. People want to work with excited, motivated people, that are going somewhere.  If you’re down in the dumps all the time, negative, skeptical, or whiny, people aren’t going to follow you.

Understand that your attitude plays a huge factor in the success level of your business.  

People follow winners, not whiners. If your whining and complaining about your lack of results, people won’t follow you.  An example  that happens a lot of times is people complaining.

I run into people at presentation complaining that someone quit, or their guests didn’t show up, or whatever the case might be. This pushes people away from you. 

Stop focusing on the people that didn’t show up, and focus on the ones that do. Play team if you’re at an event, and help out the people who have people.  You never know when your testimony might be the one that pushes someone over the edge. Your story could be the one that completely changes their life for the better.

Ways of improving your attitude to reach success in network marketing faster

Focusing on improving your attitude is one foundation that’s going to help you get success.  Now obviously being positive is important, but you don’t want to be a crazy weirdo positive.

Look at it like being 10% more excited than what you normally are. If you’re always happy-go-lucky, always motivated, always excited just be a little bit more excited than you normally are.

If you’re the kind of person that’s more laid-back, more introverted, and you go off the charts excited you seem crazy. That’s going to actually push people away.

so certainly be positive be excited have a motivated attitude but don’t be so over-the-top it’s weird.

Ways to stay motivated and excited

You might need some tools and strategies to stay motivated and positive. One of the biggest ways to do that is personal development.  One of the great sayings from T. Harv Eker is, “your inner world creates your outer world” and it’s so true.

Focus on your inner world, and your mindset and your attitude will become more positive.  There’s a lot of ways to do this, but some of the key foundations are reading good books, listening to audios, watching motivational videos, and attending events.

You become who you hang around and what you put into your head is what comes out in reality.   If your surrounding yourself with negative, whiny people, it’s going to be hard to be positive.

If you’re listening to, watching, or putting negative things into your head it’s going to be hard to be motivated. What you feed your mind can have a major impact on your attitude.

So make sure that personal development is one daily habit you implement to improve your attitude.

The next rung on the ladder of success is discipline

The next step on the ladder of success is discipline.  Self-discipline is actually one of the most important things to create success in anything. This is especially true in network marketing, and building your business.

Without discipline it’s going to be very hard to really achieve anything.  The tough part about network marketing is that it’s a numbers game.

You’re going to get nos, rejection, people quitting, people saying they will get started, but they don’t. There’s a lot of tough times while building your business, but it’s worth it when you stick with it.  This is where discipline comes into play, because if you’re not disciplined,  you won’t do the consistent activity that creates the results you want.

Leaders don’t always feel like it, especially when it comes to the discipline it takes for building your network marketing business.  There had been so many times I felt like quitting, and felt like giving up. However, every time I did I just thought of the alternative if I did quit.

Was there really going to be anything else out there that can provide that level of freedom and lifestyle that’s possible with network marketing?  For most people there isn’t any other options that can create that lifestyle.

Sustaining discipline is very important to growing your business and climbing the success ladder.

Life will get in the way when you are trying to be disciplined and climb the ladder of success

You know life really gets in the way sometimes, and one thing that is hard with being disciplined is it isn’t easy. Growing your business is often harder to be disciplined than it is not to be.

As an example, it’s probably easier to sleep in, then it is to wake up early and do personal development.  It’s easier to listen to music in your car, then to turn your car into university on wheels.

It’s easier to not follow up with your prospect that needed to think about it. It is harder to pick up the phone and make that call.  Probably easier to not prospect and watch Netflix, then it is to reach out to new people about your business.

The Slight Edge Between Success and Failure

This is why discipline is so important, because without it it’s much easier to take the easy path.  A great book out there is The Slight Edge. Basically this book talks about the simple daily decisions you make, can make a huge impact long-term.

The disciplined things you need to do to build your business are easy to do, but they’re also easy not to do.   Overtime it might not seem like a big deal to skip some of the things you should do, but over time it’s a massive difference of what can happen.

Most people overestimate what they can do in one year, but really underestimate what they can do in 10 years. A lot of that comes down to discipline.   The time is going to pass either way, and you can either be disciplined and get results, or not and continue to struggle.

This is why discipline is so important for climbing the ladder of success in your network marketing business.

The 3rd step of climbing the ladder of success in network marketing is dedication

Are you just saying that you want success or are you actually willing to do what it takes to create it?  So many times you’ll hear people say that they want success so bad. They say things like they’ll do whatever it takes.

Then a week later they don’t return your calls.  Well did they really want success or was it all talk?   Like I said, life certainly gets in the way sometimes, but as a leader you need to make a decision. Make a decision that you’re going to be dedicated to climbing the success ladder regardless of what life throws at you.

You need to be dedicated to doing the right income-producing activities every day, or your business won’t grow.  Some of the key foundations to building your business are things like inviting, presenting, closing, training, and promoting for events.

If you aren’t doing these things on a regular basis your business simply won’t grow.  So if you want success, you need to be dedicated to actually doing the things to create results.

If you’re not doing these things climbing the success ladder is really just a pipe dream.

What’s the size of the obstacle that will stop you?

Another thing to consider when it comes to the dedication is what’s the size of the obstacle that’s going to stop you?  I run into people after working a long day is enough to take them out of the game.

Maybe they didn’t get enough sleep last night, so they skip the training event.  Or they have a birthday party, so they’re not going to attend the event which could help them grow their business.

Again life will try and get in the way and keep you from success. It’s your job as the leader to be dedicated to the goal no matter the exterior circumstances. 

Dedication isn’t easy, but it’s worth it when you stay consistent. By doing so, your business will grow. 

Have the dedication like you are an athlete

Make a dedication like playing a sport. If you wanted to be the best on the team, or play on varsity, or be a professional, you’d have to practice wouldn’t you?  You would never expect to skip every practice, never work out, never show up, but then all the sudden be the first starter on the field.

A lot of people out there think like that in their business.  They think about their business all the time, but they don’t actually take any action, or follow any steps to get results.

Just because you were thinking about your business, doesn’t mean you’re working your business.  Apply the same kind of dedication you would if you are a professional athlete.

Do the daily disciplines and daily habits you need to to climb the success ladder in your business. Work hard in your off season, as in work on your personal development. 

Work as hard as you do on yourself as you do on your business.

The final rung for climbing the success ladder is determination

Determination is the final rung of the ladder of success for network marketing.  If you’re not determined to succeed, and willing to do what it takes, you won’t succeed.

One concept that helped me a lot when I was getting started, was the idea that you can make up in numbers what you lack in skill.  When I first joined the industry I was an introverted, video game nerd, with zero people or business skills.

I struggled for a long time because I had such a big learning curve to get through.  However, the skills you need to succeed in network marketing are all learn able.

With determination you can learn these skills, and then it’s really just a matter of action and time to get the results you want.

3 rules for success in network marketing and determination

There really are just three rules for success in network marketing, and they tie in well with determination.

They are pay attention, get excited, and never quit.  The first one pay attention is important because of you listen to the wrong people you won’t be successful.

So implement the strategy of matching and modeling find people that have what you want do what they do and you can get similar results.

Pay Attention, Get Excited, Never Quit

If you pay attention to the wrong people, you’re on your way to failure, rather than climbing the ladder of success.

The second rule is get excited. As we talked about earlier with attitude,  this also takes determination to achieve.  Times will be hard, and it won’t always be easy, so it takes a termination to have the right attitude.  With the right attitude and energy, you can be successful in the long term.

Finally never quitting takes determination as well.  I talked about it earlier, but if you don’t feel like quitting your business at some point, you probably aren’t building it right.

You’ll face many discouraging moments throughout your success journey. However, look at them as learning scenarios that can help you get better.

With the right mindset and determination you can succeed and climb the ladder of success in network marketing.
