How to tap into the college market or any market you want to get into

One thing that a lot of network marketing reps struggle with is trying to enter a new market that isn’t their personal demographic like how to tap into the college market for example.

How to tap into the college market by speaking their language

A major reason people struggle with entering a “new” market outside or their personal demographic is that they aren’t using language or things that would relate to that market. For example you may be around retirement age and the main reason you joined network marketing was to create a safety net for retirement.

If you lead with that same idea of planning for retirement with someone who is 18 years old just entering college they probably won’t really be able to relate to that and sharing that as a benefit of joining your business won’t really matter.

However you might want to talk about how if they join your business and commit their time and energy they can pay for their school books, or graduate debt free.

When it comes to inviting someone to look at your business customize it to their situation

Another thing you should focus on is finding out what problems or needs your target market has. When you find out what kind of issues or pain they may be experiencing, it makes it a lot easier to invite them to check out your business.

For example you may know that your friend might be worried about paying for their kids college tuition. You can invite them then by asking if you could show them a way to not have to worry about paying for their kids college education would they be open to checking it out?

I would realistically look at building a successful network marketing business as a 3-5 year project to build a successful 10k a month income. Sure, some will get there faster, but the majority of people will take at least 3 years to be able to make that happen.  This means you will need to do “COLD MARKET RECRUITING” in addition to Warm Market Recruiting, AND you will need a high volume lead generating system or you won’t make it very far.
