Are you Developing Leaders or Trying to Steal Leaders?
True Leaders learn to Develop Leaders in their Team, they Don’t Steal Leaders
First and foremost when you are out recruiting, you need to ask if people are open. It doesn’t matter if the person you are approaching is warm market, cold market, person already in a network marketing company, anything. If you are just throwing your pitch out and links at everyone without asking if they are open it is very spammy and annoying. That’s the first step when developing leaders, find someone who is actually looking or open. Somewhere along the line people seem to have got the idea that it would be easier to steal leaders rather than developing leaders on their own. I’ve found this approach to be very sleazy and I feel really needs to stop. It’s one thing if you asked someone in another company having success if they might be open to something different and if they were showing them what you do. It’s a completely different scenario if you are trying to take someone away who is happy and steal them from their organization. Instead of taking the time leaning how to develop leaders on your own it sounds like a quick fix to steal someone who knows what they are doing already. I guess the analogy comes to my mind of trying to date someone who is already married. It’s just something you don’t do unless you are pretty sleazy right? Again the first step is to ask if someone is open, if they are, you might just have that leader and their team join you, but if they aren’t even looking, stop pitching. It’s annoying and sleazy and in my opinion really needs to stop happening in our industry. So focus on building the skills of developing leaders on your own and then attract other leaders without having to try and steal leaders in other organizations.

I would realistically look at building a successful network marketing business as a 3-5 year project to build a successful 10k a month income. Sure, some will get there faster, but the majority of people will take at least 3 years to be able to make that happen. This means you will need to do “COLD MARKET RECRUITING” in addition to Warm Market Recruiting, AND you will need a high volume lead generating system or you wont make it very far. Network Marketing is a numbers game, and without the Numbers and Leads you have no business. If you don’t already have a High Volume Lead Generating System for Your Business….
