Are You Only Learning Through Trial And Error?
A big mistake I learned the hard way when I was new at building my business, is that I only wanted to learn through trial and error, rather than investing in myself.
Investing in yourself will save you money, not cost you money
A lot of people get started in their home business and try and keep everything as cheap as possible. Bootstrapping is definitely a strategy you want to use, however there are some places you shouldn’t be cheap with your business.
One such area is in personal development and coaching and going to training. I can’t even begin to count how much time, money, and frustration I could have saved myself if I would have just invested in myself and coaching and training right away vs just learning through trial and error.
A common mistake is thinking that you should wait to attend training or get coaching once you are doing well and making money. This is backwards thinking.
It would be the same idea of waiting to get A’s and B’s in school when you are failing before you seek help or hire a tutor. The success and results come after you seek help, not before. You don’t know what you don’t know.
Hiring a coach and investing in yourself can help speed up your learning curve
You certainly don’t have to hire a coach or attend training to create success, but it may take you an extra 10 years or more to figure out everything on your own.
When people create a training course, write a book, or coach, they are taking all of their years of experience of what works and what doesn’t and simply stream line it for you so you can get results faster.
Successful people spent years developing their skills and knowledge and you are able to learn everything they have, or close to it, by attending their courses, reading books, so why not take advantage of it.
It may cost you some money upfront, but the time and money and frustration it will save you will be well worth it in the long run.
