How to create an independent sales rep in your team
You want to have an independent sales rep vs a dependent sales rep
Often times when people are struggling in their home business it is because they are trying to do everything on their own and they are trying to be the hero, which is actually creating dependence in your team. If your goal is to have a successful independent sales rep you need to start thinking with the end in mind. Most people think that if they want something done right they need to do it themselves and unfortunately that is the top killer of duplication and leverage. When it comes to leverage and freedom in your home business you want to have systems and independence in your team and the ability to walk away from your business.
If you want an independent sales rep be sure to have them meet other leaders so they don’t solely have to rely on you
I used to make this mistake in the past and would try and be everything to my new team member and would want to show them how everything was done. The best thing you can do for your new team member is to get them familiar with more leaders than just yourself. If you coddle your new team member they will become a dependent sales rep vs an independent sales rep in your team. You want to create a system dependent business not a people dependent business. If you teach your rep the system and tools you can take off all of the energy on you. You don’t want to have to do every presentation for each rep every time nor do you want to have to take phone calls every minute of the day you want to create a team that can build successfully with or without you.
