Good Leadership Qualities: A key Difference Between Leadership and Management
One difference between leadership and management is you don’t just tell people what to do as a leader
Often at our jobs or even in business some “leaders” we have worked with in the past have been more on the management side vs leadership. As a leader in your business you will want to empower your team to be successful. In a successful network marketing business you really want to have massive duplication and a team that grows with or without you. Well if you treat your team like they are employees you will get a less than desireable result. No one starts a network marketing business because they want a second boss or a second job. They usually want more freedom, more recognition, and more results in their life than they are currently getting. You need to have good leadership qualities and want to empower your team if you want big results. The more leaders you develop in your organization the better and the faster your team will grow. That is a large difference between leadership and management in the fact that in management and in the corporate world if you train people to be better than you they take your job. If you train and empower your team in network marketing to be better than you, you get to go to the beach.
Another of the Good Leadership qualities you should develop is the habit of coming full circle
Often in work situations you often encounter the boss or manager that simply tells you to do something because xyz policy says that you should. Well this can lead to terrible results in your home business. In past situations I was told simply show two people a day, or sign up X number each week and you will make big income. The only problem was I didn’t know how to prospect, and I didn’t know what to say, or how to say it. This can be a deal breaker in your organization, if your team members don’t know how to do something they usually do nothing. This is why in your business as the leader you need to come full circle in your explanations vs just telling someone what to do. That is a difference between leadership and management in the fact that often in management you don’t fully explain why people should do things and the philosophy behind things. If you keep your team in the dark like that, they will end up like me the first few years in the industry with little results and no team. You want to instil good leadership qualities in your team and make sure that they fully explain things and that your team members know how to take people through each stage of your business. If you don’t you will have a roadblock and business will only go so far and you will hit plateaus. So the first step you should teach your team is how to prospect. If they don’t know how to invite or how to find people to talk to and what to say, nothing will happen beyond you in your business.
