How Do You Determine the Success Of Your Website?
Every business needs to have a website — every entrepreneur knows that. But simply having a site isn’t what counts. It’s just the start. What’s important is that the website is successful. There’s a big difference between a website that works for a company and one that’s just sitting there, occupying some internet space. So how do you figure out whether your website is moving things in the right direction, or not? We take a look at some telltale signs below.

Number Of Visitors Matters: How To Get More Website Visitors
Well, this is an obvious starting point. How many visitors you have each month should be a pretty good indicator of how well your website is doing. But of course, it’s important that you look beyond just the number. A business that receives 1000 website visitors each month might be happy with the figure, but it has to hold up to scrutiny.
For example, you can see where those visitors came from. If you’re running a local business, yet find that half the visitors came from other countries, then the number of useful visitors moves down to five hundred. From them, you might find that some are competitors, or that some only landed on the main page before clicking ‘X’.
Repeated Engagement Means Repeat Visitors To Your Website
Getting a visitor is fine. Getting a visitor to come back to the site, again and again, is much, better. You would rather have one person visit your website five times than have ten people visiting once.
This shows that you’re offering something on your website that makes people want to come back. It shows that you’re moving in the right direction. If you have a comments section (say, for your blogs), then the number of comments you get is a good sign. Basically, it’s less about simply getting people to your website, more about getting them to engage with it in some way.
Creating engagement is really an essential step in building your business online. The foundations to successful online marketing, are building your audience, engaging your audience, and finally selling to your audience.

Use Search Engine Optimization To Increase Website Traffic For Free
You already know that your appearance on search engines is going to play a huge part in the success of your website. Even if you think the site awesome, it’ll be doomed to fail if Google and co disagree.
You need people to be pointed towards your website, whether you like it or not! The good news is that search engines like high-quality websites, so if you’re performing well on there, then you know you’re doing something right.
Similarly, if you can’t find your website, then you’ll know you need to improve. There are a bunch of SEO metrics to track, which you can then use to see how robust your SEO is and to improve your efforts, if necessary. Getting your SEO right is a gift keeps on giving; it improves your website and points more people to visit, too.
Keyword research is really the foundation of getting free traffic to your website as far as SEO is concerned. If you don’t know what people are searching for, your content can miss the mark.
Understanding what keywords your target market is actually searching for can help you write compelling content they are interested in, as well as help you create offers that will convert.

Get Sign-Ups For Your Email Newsletter To Get Traffic To Your Website For Free
You’re trying to get people to become repeat visitors, to be engaged, and to have your website as part of their internet experience. If you can get people to sign up to your newsletter, then you’ll have achieved that goal.
So keep an eye on the number of email addresses you’re collecting, and try to bump those numbers up if they’re low. I mentioned it briefly above, but just asking for people to join your newsletter isn’t enough. You need to offer something of value above and beyond just signing up for your newsletter.
Being completely frank with you, no one really cares about your newsletter. You need to offer something like a free training, free guide, PDF download, ebook, audio training, or video series.
Giving away something like a free ebook can actually get people interested in signing up for your newsletter list. This is important because the money is in the list. The larger a list of highly targeted leads you have, the more likely you can develop that list into conversions.
It can also be a great resource to drive free traffic to your website. Check out this post on How To Get Traffic To Your Website For Beginners to learn more about this and other strategies. Also, watch the video below on how to create an ebook.
Tools And Systems You Need To Increase Website Traffic
One mistake I made early on in my online marketing career was I tried to be so cheap with my business that it ended up costing me money. This concept really seems backward, but as small business owners, we often do whatever we can to try and cut costs.
While you obviously don’t want to be wasting money, you also don’t want to be wasting time and efficiency. Unfortunately, many business owners tend to choose money over time and long-term results.
Investing in the right tools and systems to promote your website and grow your business may be a bit intimidating at first, but they can pay for themselves and then some in the long run. One such tool I’d highly recommend, that I know I put off for far too long, is an email autoresponder.
When I first started developing my lead magnets and free giveaways to start generating leads online and build my list, I tried to do everything manually. This was in an attempt to save a few bucks, but in reality, the extra time and hassle it put on my business were not worth saving that money.
Investing in tools like an email autoresponder and a sales funnel system allowed me to automate a large part of the lead generation for my business. These are tools you should definitely get in place to accelerate the growth of your business faster.
