How to control the conversation: Don’t blast your link

One mistake that a lot of people make is that they blast their company links everywhere and this ruins any chance to control the conversation. Your biggest ally in prospecting in network marketing is curiosity. Curiosity moves people. When you give people your presentation link immediately without asking if they are open to looking at it, you are setting yourself up for failure.

All too often people post on their social media accounts something like “I just joined xyz company and it is the greatest company in the world!” They might also say stuff like “if you want extra money check out my awesome business at xyz.com.” Doing this is like playing poker and showing everyone your hand before you even start betting.

Your job in network marketing is to have people see your presentation in its entirety and see it for what it really is. Blasting your link destroys any chance of you to doing this correctly.

How to control the conversation: Don’t tell people anything until you can tell them everything

Another mistake people make is thinking that they can explain everything or give people a half explanation and that will get them interested to learn more. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. This is actually called verbally vomiting.

Sometimes people say things like “well my friends are different.” Or “well you don’t know how my friends are.” Trust me I do. Your company and leaders in the industry know what works and what doesn’t…That’s why they have results. So if you somehow think that your friends are magically different you would be wrong. This is why it is important to control the conversation. Only show people something when you can show them everything.

The best way you can learn how to control the conversation in network marketing is to learn how to invite correctly. Check out my free training on the 14 Proven Keys to Inviting in Network Marketing here!

I would realistically look at building a successful network marketing business as a 3-5 year project to build a successful 10k a month income. Sure, some will get there faster, but the majority of people will take at least 3 years to be able to make that happen.  This means you will need to do “COLD MARKET RECRUITING” in addition to Warm Market Recruiting, AND you will need a high volume lead generating system or you won’t make it very far. Network Marketing is a numbers game, and without the Numbers and Leads you have no business. If you don’t already have a High Volume Lead Generating System for Your Business….
