How To Remove Instagram Follow Block – Is Instagram Automation Dead?
Are you looking for a way how to remove Instagram follow block on your account? Have you been using the follow and unfollow method to grow your Instagram account and now it’s not working? Or maybe you have Instagram automation set up on your account and you have been blocked from following? Heck with the latest Instagram updates, some people are even getting follow blocked without using any Instagram automation. Well in today’s post you’ll learn some tips to help you remove an Instagram follow block and find out if Instagram automation is dead.
Common Reasons You Have An Instagram Follow Block
The first thing you need to understand if you have a follow block on your Instagram account is how it happened in the first place. Unfortunately, Instagram is always updating their algorithms so the set numbers could change, as they did a few weeks ago, but there are still some common reasons why you are experiencing a block on Instagram.
Before the latest Instagram Algorithm update, you could actually follow up to 1000 new followers a day. This worked well with Instagram automation and following people on Instagram manually.
This allowed you to get a lot of attention quickly as when you follow someone on Instagram it is sort of like a tap on the shoulder and saying hi. From that point if they like what they see on your profile that person will tend to follow you back.
The downside to this is if you follow people too fast you can get this feature blocked. With the new updates that issue has become even more frequent that people are getting action blocked from following too fast on Instagram.
The newly updated rates for following on Instagram to prevent a follow block
With the old Instagram algorithm, you were fine following a ton of people each day, but the latest update seems to have limited your monthly total to only 6,000 follows. This means you need to limit your following to at max 200 follows a day on Instagram if the month has 30 days.
That being said, it’s still likely better to do less than 200 follows on Instagram a day, especially if you have a new account. Start slowly and build up gradually to keep your accounts safe.
Slowing down is another way to help keep your Instagram account from being action blocked. The Instagram algorithm seems to frown upon following too many accounts too fast and will set up a follow block on your account.
With the new restrictions, you’ll want to spread out your following throughout the day to avoid your account getting action blocked. If you are using Instagram automation or Instagram bots, you’ll need to adjust your settings as well.
How to get rid of an action block on Instagram
Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific action you can do to remove an action block on Instagram once you have one. There is an option to say you think they made a mistake when you get the notification that you have been blocked from a feature, but there are no guarantees that will remove your action block.
Time is really the only guaranteed way to remove an action block on Instagram. So if you already have a block on your account, you’ll just have to wait, and then prevent getting action blocked again in the future.
As with the following blocks on Instagram, they seem to be lifted after your total follow count gets below 6000 followers for the month. This also seems to be in line with a 30-day rolling calendar.
Some of my accounts that were running just fine before the Instagram algorithm update were suddenly slapped with a follow block. This happened because the total number of follows I had done for the month were above that 6000 mark, which previously was perfectly fine.
Again time is your friend when trying to remove an action block on Instagram. When you are blocked follow their guidelines to fix it. For example, if Instagram says to wait until a specific date to be able to follow again, don’t try and follow someone before then. Doing this can extend the blocks you have on your account and even run the risk of being shut down.
Is Instagram Automation Dead because of the new Instagram algorithm?
This is somewhat of a loaded question because some aspects of Instagram automation do seem to not work, while others do tend to work fine. Also, some settings of Instagram automation on programs like Jarvee, tend to work for some accounts but not others.
This means that some accounts may not work because of compromised proxies or even closer monitoring on accounts that have received action blocks in the past.
At the same time, this problem seems to circle back to the issue of doing too many actions too fast. Some accounts I’ve had that were blocked now work fine with automation, but after a few weeks, they get blocked again.
At this point, it seems like Instagram automation is not dead and it does still work, but there is just going to be an adjustment period to work out the kinks in line with the new Instagram algorithm.
Tips for Safe Instagram Automation
Not all Instagram Automation is dead, but more how you use it. Kind of like the old saying goes, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”, the same can be said of Instagram automation. In the wrong hands or used too aggressively Instagram automation will get your account blocked and potentially shut down.
When you are automating anything you want it to function as a human would. For example, if you do want to automate follows on Instagram don’t do it during weird times or on a 24/7 basis. Humans need to sleep, so don’t run Instagram automation to follow people at 3 in the morning.
Also, don’t use Instagram automation to do tasks that are impossible for humans. For example, you don’t want to be following people and unfollowing people at the exact same time. That can throw up red flags.
You should also avoid running multiple Instagram accounts from the same IP address at the same time. This only happens with Instagram automation, and that is frowned upon by Instagram.
If you are going to use proxies make sure they are quality proxies and specific to Instagram. The service I’ve used and have found to work well for Instagram Proxies is through HighProxies. They are very cost-effective and their customer service has been on point if I ever had issues. Click here to check out their site and more on proxies you can use for Instagram marketing.
Use Instagram automation for tasks besides following and unfollowing
One area you may consider using Instagram automation that doesn’t seem to have been affected at all by the new Instagram algorithm update is sending direct messages on Instagram.
This has always been my favorite means of getting leads on Instagram and making money on Instagram. The direct message feature on Instagram is very powerful because you can have actual conversations with people.
It also seems that even with action blocks for posting, following, and unfollowing, direct messaging does still work on Instagram. There are various ways that you can both manually reach out to people to generate leads or even automate it and it still works fine while being action blocked on Instagram.
Using Instagram direct messages to grow while avoiding Instagram blocks
Certainly, this comes with caution in that you shouldn’t be spammy with this feature, especially if you are using Instagram automation. You want to use the Instagram direct message feature to initiate a conversation not to spam your affiliate links.
The goal of the direct messages is to create a dialogue with someone and see how you can help them and add value to their lives. Plus you can still use the automated direct messages to those who follow you to offer your lead magnets and start conversations.
For me, I typically send a message along the lines of something like, “Thanks for following me I really appreciate it! By the way, you also might want to check out the link in my bio here @mikemacdirect to download my training video on how to get more traffic, leads, and sales for your business through Instagram. Also, I’m from Minnesota, where are you from?”
When you only automate a direct message when someone follows you, you can use all of the other means of growing your Instagram account without the follow/unfollow method and take advantage of Instagram automation.
Key tips to prevent being blocked on Instagram
Again when you do have an action block on your account, the only solution to fix it is time. However, after you are unblocked follow the best practices below.
- Don’t follow more than 6000 people in a 30-day window
- Avoid following more than 200 people a day
- Don’t follow too many people too fast try and stay under 10 follows an hour if possible
- Don’t follow and unfollow accounts at the same time with automation
- Use only safe proxies if you are using automation
- Don’t run multiple Instagram accounts from the same IP address
- Act like a human with Instagram automation (don’t follow people in the middle of the night)
- Don’t send spammy messages with direct messages
- Don’t do any action repeatedly too quickly
Stick to these best practices and the likelihood you will be blocked in the future will go down significantly. Check out this FREE Instagram Marketing Training to generate more leads, sales, and signups for your business.
