How Virtual Tech Ensures You Never Experience Downtime

The worst thing a startup can experience is a loss of connection. SMEs rely on the internet to the point where they struggle to continue working without the help of the internet. Even a plan B includes going online.

While it’s possible to rectify the situation, a boss’s best option is to avoid downtime altogether. That way, there’s no reason to worry about a loss of leads and sales and the inevitable decline in profits.

Virtual and remote technologies are the answer as they cover the bases bosses struggle to. Here’s how they can help your company stay online regardless of the problem.

Home-Based

Once you invest in VR, there’s no need to go into the office on a daily basis. Working from home is perfectly acceptable as long as there is a connection, which is usually the case. Why?

It’s because of the extra options outside of the corporate server industry. In your living room, you have a wifi router to rely on as well as mobile data. Because it’s only you and a laptop which demands your time, and your megabytes, it’s okay to use a personal hotspot as a contingency plan. With a strong signal, nothing will ever go offline again.

Virtual Private Servers

If you don’t know much about virtual private servers, you should do some research. Pretty much everything related to VPS hosting is essential for the survival of a startup.

The chief feature to keep in mind is the ability to choose the location of the connection. Whether it’s the US, the UK, France or Canada, the choice is yours depending on the service at your disposal. If South Korea is an option, be sure to pick that one because the connection speeds are quick and reliable. That way, if there is downtime, you can switch the location to one where there isn’t a problem.

Cloud Computing

VPS and cloud computing work in similar ways. They are both virtual platforms used for storage. What’s great about cloud computing is that it lets you continue to work even if there isn’t an internet connection.

Because the cloud is accessible offline, there’s no need to shut everything down when your servers are on the brink. Some systems will suffer, but the cloud should provide enough info for you to continue working at a similar capacity. Even if 50% of the business is hurt, it’s better than 100%.

Staff

There are lots of examples of virtual staff for businesses in the 21st-century. From accountants to personal assistants, bosses aren’t short of opportunities.

Just like the cloud, they are vital for keeping the company running when the connection is severed. A recorded message, for example, will continue to play to customers who call and can’t reach an adviser.

Although they can’t place orders over the phone, the assistant can direct them to different platforms. It might tell them the phone lines are down but the website is still working.

Downtime is a killer, so make sure it doesn’t harm your business by investing in virtual technology.
