One of my favorite marketing tips is to not prejudge people in your business.

Marketing tips: Your job isn’t to convince everyone to buy or join simply to just show them

A common mistake that people make is they think they have to convince all of their friends and family to join their business in order to create home business success. Most new reps don’t get success, and some people never even get started, because they pre-judge. If you don’t think people will either buy your products or join your business without even asking you’ll never be successful.

Playing the “what if” game in a negative way will sabotage your results in everything. This is called pre-judging and it’s a common mistake people make when they are new. Your job as a rep isn’t to be a psychic and guess who is in or out before you ask. Your job is just to expose people to your business for what it really is professionally. Think of your home business like opening a pizza shop. You wouldn’t bank on only your friends and family to keep your business in profit. However you would still let them know you were in business.  You may say something like “Hey I don’t know if you are a huge pizza fan or not, but I just opened a pizza place downtown. We would love it if you came out sometime and gave it a try.” You wouldn’t call all your friends and try and convince them they had to eat pizza every day. You would just let them know and the ones who liked pizza would come and eat at your restaurant. It’s the same strategy to create massive home business success.

Marketing tips for home business success: Don’t treat your business like a lottery ticket

When you pre-judge in your business you are treating it like a lottery ticket not a business. Again sometimes people won’t even start in the business because they prejudge. They have two or three people they think might be interested and they figure if those people don’t get started they can’t be successful. If you look at home business success like a lottery ticket it’s going to be hard to create success.

You need to find people who have been successful and then just match and model. If someone has created success, and has been where you have been, you can simply do what they did to recreate that success. You want to look long term and decide to become a professional and simply learn the skills it takes to become successful. The time will pass either way, you might as well learn the skills to build a massive business and not have a lottery ticket mindset which will keep you from success.

I would realistically look at building a successful network marketing business as a 3-5 year project to build a successful 10k a month income. Sure, some will get there faster, but the majority of people will take at least 3 years to be able to make that happen.  This means you will need to do “COLD MARKET RECRUITING” in addition to Warm Market Recruiting, AND you will need a high volume lead generating system or you wont make it very far.
