Everyone gets some degree of nervousness when prospecting so here are some prospecting tips on how to deal with anxiety while prospecting.

One easy way how to deal with anxiety while building your business is that you should in your mind determine what is the worst case scenario in certain situations. One thing you will figure out very quickly is that when you are prospecting is that the worse case scenario is that when you show someone your business they will say no it’s not for them and they don’t join. One of the best prospecting tips I was taught is this and that if the worse case scenario is a “no” then not saying anything will give you the same outcome as reaching the worst case scenario. This will be a great way for how to deal with anxiety because literally any outcome will either be better than or equal to the worse case. With this in mind you will almost always have a better chance than the worst case scenario of a “no” and often a “no” just means not now. I and plenty of others in the industry have had a “no” from someone initially and down the road they joined the business.

Prospecting tips: If you don’t show them someone else will – A unique way how to deal with anxiety of sharing your business

Now you might not have heard this before but you should understand that you are not the only person that knows your friends. One of the worst things that can happen in your business is that you don’t show someone because you are scared or pre-judge them and then someone else in the business shows them and they do get started and hit a home run. This is by far worse then having anxiety and being scared to show them. You should have more anxiety of this happening and going through your list because of it. Imagine if you had a friend you didn’t show because you thought they wouldn’t be interested or maybe you didn’t have any sense of urgency showing the people you know and they got started with someone else. Now imagine this person comes in and creates a huge business and becomes one of the top earners in the company, and you are still struggling because you haven’t built a large business yet. And the flip side of the coin is that if you only mustered up the courage and figured out how to deal with anxiety about asking them you could now be living the life of your dreams and all you had to do was ask if they were open to checking out what you do. Now that would be hard to deal with. Think about that next time you are scared to pick up the phone.

Prospecting tips you can use for how to deal with anxiety – Expect the best but prepare for the worst

Another way how to deal with anxiety while prospecting is to expect the best case scenario but mentally prepare for the worst. Now if you know the worst possible outcome, your goal should be to simply make sure that doesn’t happen. If you can have that be one of your focuses while prospecting you will save yourself a lot of worry and frustration in the long run.
