Setting expectations in your home based business with your new team members should be a big focus when someone new starts in your business.
Often times people new to a home based business have a lottery ticket mentality and setting expectations for them that it will take time and effort to build a solid business is crucial for success
I’ve seen it too many times in my business and with people who join the home based business industry, that they have an instant gratification mindset coming into the business. If you aren’t setting expectations with your new rep that they are going to get nos and that they are going to face rejection, you should expect a high turnover rate. Most new reps see the massive success stories and million dollar earners making huge incomes and living an amazing lifestyle and like everyone else they want to have it. Unfortunately some new reps don’t get taught early on that those top people faced hundreds of nos, rejection, ridicule, friends and family saying no, people quitting their business, financial struggles and much more on their journey to the top. For some reason all to often people will think that their situation is the most unique in the world and they are the only one who faces such problems, and therefore they are justified that they “can’t” become successful.
Setting expectations correctly will prepare your new team for the challenges they will face when building their home based business
When you debunk the get rich quick and lottery ticket mentality most people have when they get started, you can better prepare your team for the long term. Everyone has setbacks and problems, so while people’s situations are “unique” they are not alone. You should be setting expectations of your new reps in your home based business to go through the process of work, struggle, and the prize. The less people know and less they are prepared for what happens, the less likely they will stick around. Now this isn’t to scare them, away, but to show that it isn’t going to be easy, but it will be worth it. Social proof can accomplish that fact and that is the proper way to explain top earners results and lifestyle through your home based business.
