New team members are the life blood of your business, and it can create massive leverage in your network marketing business. In this post you’ll learn some of my top network marketing tips and the top strategies to recruit more to help you build a network marketing team.

1. Work on you first as a foundation to recruiting in network marketing

You’ll hear me say this time and time again, but your business will only grow to the point that you do.  This is one of the key foundations to recruit more in your network marketing business.

People want to work with leaders not just a company.  You need to become the leader that other leaders are looking for to build a massive organization.

One thing I know I struggled with for a long time was I didn’t work on myself at all.  I was doing all the action steps, but wasn’t getting any results because I was neglecting improving my skill set and getting better.

Learning through trial and error is great, but it will take you a lot longer to achieve success then it will when you are taking action in combination with personal development.

There are several ways to improve your own success and work on your skill set.

How to get success in network marketing: Attend events 

If you’re in network marketing, one of the best ways to skyrocket your business is to attend industry events.  Likely, your own company has events that are going on, on a regular basis.

These could be things like a super Saturday, regional events, or even national events with your company. Why events are so important is because you can meet other people that are succeeding at a higher level than you.

You become who you hang around, so attending network marketing events is a great way to meet other leaders in your company and Industry.  One key to success is matching and modeling, so make sure you find leaders to model. Company events are great place to do this.

This can also give you massive belief, which is one key factor to recruiting more in your network marketing business. If you believe you can you will, if you believe you can’t you won’t.

Seeing others succeed at a high-level can help develop your belief.  You’ll run into people just like you already succeeding at company events. This can give you the motivation to push through your challenges and to succeed at a high level.

Read personal development books to speed up your network marketing success

Another way to improve your skill set is through reading good books.  Most people leave high school or college and never pick up a book again.

This is unfortunate because it’s one of the best ways to develop yourself into the leader you need to be to grow your network marketing business.  You don’t have to spend all day reading to get the benefits of this either.

You could start off reading 5 to 10 pages a day. Eventually that can lead to one or two books every single month.  Imagine reading 10 to 12 new books every single year honing your skills and getting better.

It would be a night and day difference between your skill sets and leadership ability through doing this.  That’s why reading books is an essential part of becoming the leader you need to be to succeed in network marketing.

Listening to audio books or training videos as a form of training for network marketing

Another great resource to work on yourself and improve your skills faster is audio books as well as training videos.  This is one of my favorite ways to develop my skill-set because you can combine it with other activities.

Reading books is a little bit more difficult to do while you are working out at the gym, or driving a car for example. I’d assume you’d get pulled over trying to flip pages in your favorite book while driving.

However,  having an audio book play in your car or will working out is a great way to double dip. This allows you to tap into personal development without wasting extra time.

This is one of my favorite strategies to develop yourself. Combining unproductive time with productive time.

As an avid video game nerd, I’ll often play video games while listening to personal development books or watching training videos.  Doing things like this will allow you to continue to grow and become the leader you need to be while still having an enjoyable life.

Network Marketing Success Tips: Hire a coach

Hiring a coach is another great option to become the leader you need to be in network marketing to recruit more.  A key concept to understand is that you don’t know what you don’t know.

Certainly you can try and grow your business through trial and error, but it’s a lot less fun, and definitely more frustrating. Hiring a coach to help you get results faster in a number of ways. Since they’ve been there before, they’ll have a bird’s-eye view on your situation.

This means they can often see things that are holding you back that you can’t see.  Something that can take you years of trial-and-error to figure out, could be solved in a five minute conversation. This can help you reach the next level much faster.

Certainly coaching is a higher level form of personal develop, and many are fearful to take that leap. I know I certainly was the first time I hired a coach.  I started off with smaller coaching programs that were a few thousand dollars, but continue to invest in myself at higher levels.

It was nerve-racking every time, but every time I stepped out of my comfort zone and made that commitment my business continued to go to the next level.  I highly recommend hiring a coach as one option to take your business to the next level.

Invest in courses to develop your network marketing recruiting skills

Finally, one of the best ways to take your network marketing recruiting the next level is through taking training courses.  Many leaders in the industry put together courses that are about recruiting, prospecting, growing your business offline and through social media.

These courses can be a great resource to take your business to the next level faster.  Look at an online course just like you would a book.

With books, people typically take years of experience and cram them into a few hundred pages you can absorb a few hours.  The same thing as similar with an online course.

The great thing with online courses is that they are often visual and will walk you through, step by step, how to do a specific task. Like in the case of recruiting in network marketing.

Another advantage with online courses, is they are often crammed full of practical knowledge you can apply immediately.  If you’re an action taker, you can start to bring in results right away from what you learned in those courses.

2. Treat your business like a business not a hobby

Another one of the best network marketing tips you can do is to treat your business like a business not a hobby.  Hobbies cost you money, businesses make you money.

All too often people end up treating their business like a hobby or a lottery ticket and that’s why they struggle.   Most people come into network marketing with a get-rich-quick mindset, and that’s just not how network marketing works.

You can’t dip your toe in the water and expect to be massively successful in network marketing.  Network marketing requires a skill set and effort and energy to learn.

I guarantee anyone that looks like they had overnight success, developed skills, relationships, and leadership abilities prior to joining the industry.  This doesn’t mean you need those skills relationships to start. You simply need to eventually learn them to become successful.

However, that’s often why it may appear some people get results faster than others, because they developed those skills already.

Commitment equals success in network marketing recruiting.  Understand that the skills can be learned and developed, it just might take some time. Treat your business like a business not a hobby and your results will come faster.

3. Lead by example as one way how to get success in network marketing

Network marketing is a lead by example business.  Are you asking your team to do things you aren’t willing to do?  If so I could be one reason why you are struggling with recruiting in network marketing.

People want to follow leaders, not managers. Often people get sucked into management mode well recruiting in network marketing. They bring in one or two people and look at them like they’re golden ticket.

They turn into a cheerleader instead of a leader,  trying ride those new people’s efforts to success.  Unfortunately that doesn’t work. Who knows, you might get lucky and find one rock star that really takes off, in the first few people you share the business with. But for most people that doesn’t happen.

Instead of looking for that next leader, you need to become the leader of their leaders are looking for.  You do this by leading by example.

In addition to this ask yourself would you follow you?  If the answers no, it might be time to take more action and become the leader you’re looking for while recruiting in network marketing.

Network marketing tips consistency is key for network marketing recruiting

Another major factor for your success in network marketing is consistency.  You need to keep your foot on the gas if you ever expect to win big in network marketing.

All too often I find people work hard for a little bit, and then disappear into the witness protection program.  Anything you want to be exceptional at is going to require consistent effort over time to get good at.

Ask yourself, are you getting good at something worth getting good at.  Network marketing takes time to learn and develop the skill sets.

Decide that you are going to take consistent action to learn what you need to learn to become a massive success. I’d much rather have someone that took consistent action over time, then someone who went all out for a few weeks and did nothing for months.

Make consistency part of your habits while recruiting for network marketing.

Invite professionally while recruiting in network marketing

Finally you’re going to want to invite professionally while recruiting for network marketing.  Too many times new people in network marketing think they can survive on hype alone.

Certainly want to be excited about your business. However, being over-the-top and leading with hype alone, pushes people away from joining your business.

Definitely believe that your company is great and everyone should do it. At the same time you need to start talking about how amazing your company and products are at the right time. Not as the only thing you talk about.

Obviously there’s a time and place for that, but it’s usually not in the inviting process.

Network marketing recruiting tips: What’s in it for them

As a foundation in network marketing recruiting you need to focus on what’s in it for your prospect. People don’t care about the amazing features of your business, they care about how it’s going to benefit them.

This is how you need to approach people for your network marketing business. Before you invite them to take a look at your business, you need to think about how your business will help that person.

Ask more questions and learn problems, needs, and wants your potential customer or business partner has.  When you discover these things it makes it so much easier to invite people to take a look at your business.

After finding what’s in it for them, see if they are open to a solution

Once you discovered what’s in it for them, and how your business could potentially help your prospect, it’s time to see if they’re open to taking a look.  This makes recruiting in network marketing much easier and natural when you know if they are open to taking a look.

An example of inviting in this way could be helping someone spend more time with their kids.  You might say something like, “Hey Bob I know you’ve been talking about hating having to send your kids to daycare every day and are wanting to spend more time with them.  I’m just curious, if I could show you a way to not have to send your kids to daycare, and make the same kind of money you’re making now at your job, would you be open to checking out?”

This is a very high-level invite because you’re finding some type of need or want you can help with, and simply inviting your prospect to see a solution.

When someone is open to what you have, it makes it more natural to share your business without being pushy.
