There Ain’t No Free Lunch While Building Your Network Marketing Business

If you’ve ever heard the phrase it takes money to make money, that isn’t too far off, however I personally like there ain’t no free lunch better when it comes to building your network marketing business.

Everything has a cost while building your network marketing business

Often I’ll encounter someone who is struggling in their business and when we talk about helping them with tools or training, or courses, a common objection is how much is this going to cost. Or they might say something like I’m not making any money yet so SPENDING more money isn’t an option.

One thing I used to struggle with and didn’t quite get when I was new is that EVERYTHING has a cost. Somethings might not cost money, but they certainly will cost you time.

For example it may be free to continue promoting your business the way you have been, however if you are struggling it’s going to cost you missed opportunities of what you could be making if you added in tools to make your business more efficient.

There’s an opportunity cost with everything you just have to choose what “price” you want to pay

For example you may be hesitant at investing in yourself by going to a training event or hiring a coach or taking a course. Obviously all of these things are going to cost you time and money the “price” for admittance.

However, not going will also have it’s “price”. Not going to an event, buying coaching, investing in tools and training, is going to cost you the time it takes to get results.

Imagine trying to learn a skill like building a home. Do you think it would be faster to do it on your own with no experience starting from scratch or to hire someone to do it?

Obviously hiring someone to do it would be the fastest result, but also cost the most. It’s the same concept while you are building your network marketing business.

You could try through trial and error and make a ton of mistakes and it would take a long time to get success or even finish the home (build your business), or you could invest in tools and training to get there faster.

Your level of investment in yourself determines how fast you grow

Back to the house analogy, you could buy a few books on how to tile, how to build a kitchen, etc, and you would spend a little money but at least be better off then just guessing.

Or maybe you hire a professional to do one bathroom and you watch them and now you can do the next bathroom quickly and not make as many mistakes.

Again you have to determine how much cost you want to pay in trial and error and sweat equity, or how much you want to pay to get things done fast. Same thing in your business.

So next time you may feel like complaining about how much things cost, put it in perspective and ask yourself what is it really going to cost if you don’t invest in yourself.
