Is the grass greener in another home business?

A common misconception in the home business industry is that all companies besides your own are terrible, now of course you probably like your personal company best, but that doesn’t mean the grass is always greener if you aren’t getting results.

is-the-grass-greener-in-another-home-business, the grass is greener, home business, mindset,

There are many factors that determine if a home business will work or not

Obviously I have my opinions of what I believe is a good company to work with and product line that works, however this isn’t what this post is about. There are certainly reasons why I decided to partner with my company, and chose to work exclusively with them over others, and if you would like you can check out more on that HERE.

However this post is more about the mindset surrounding people who tend to jump ship to a new company every couple of months thinking that the grass will be greener.

Of course if you haven’t been getting results for many years and don’t have any belief or excitement or mentor-ship it may be a good idea to take a look at another business. At the same time you may be limiting yourself to who you can market to in your business as well.

For example your home business may be marketing makeup and skin care. Although the company is probably great, and the products also probably get great results, right at the start you are basically eliminating about 50% of the population from your business (as a male, I for one don’t see myself buying makeup anytime soon)…

Or you may be marketing nutrition, which I firmly believe in and know works, however maybe you are trying to market that to millennials, where most of the time they don’t really care about in investing in their health.

Again none of these are bad companies, and you certainly can become successful, but understanding who you are marketing to does play a big factor in how much success you can create and how quickly you can create it.

How you are marketing often is a bigger factor than which company you are with for your home business

This brings me to my main point of this post in the fact that the grass isn’t always greener, almost always the grass is greener where you water it.

The first thing you need to do is took in the mirror and take a hard look at what you are doing and what kind of leader you are first. I find some people jump from company to company looking for the perfect fit that their warm market will be into, instead of looking at how they are building the business as what is causing their success or failure.

Or maybe they are not following the system, blasting their links everywhere, saying too much, and not being teachable, and when things don’t work for them it’s now the company that’s bad. When in reality it was how they were attempting to build their home business.

Successful people and leaders don’t play the blame game, they take personal responsibility for their results and make the decision to learn the skills and develop into the leader they need to be to become successful.

They don’t get caught up in the shiny object syndrome always looking the the next “amazing ground floor opportunity”. Instead they find good mentors and leadership with a product they believe in and then go to work.

Leaders have a mindset of “If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me!”, not “If it’s meant to be, the stars must align, and the perfect ground floor opportunity no one has heard of with products all my warm market will love will appear…”.

As one of my mentors Ray said, “wherever you go, there you are.” Meaning that YOU are the key factor in your success NOT your company. Make a decision to learn the skills and become the leader you need to become in order to succeed.

You can’t hope to be successful without learning the skills it takes to win. One of the major skills you need to master is Prospecting and Recruiting.
