When you’re running a small business, personality matters in every respect and so do your business ethics. It doesn’t just have a bearing on your business processes and the relationships you nurture, but it will improve how you come across to your customers.

Working at communicating your innermost details and processes, is one of the best ways to get to the root of what you are about, so you can display this personality to the customer, and they can feel more inclined to buy from you.

This could be a certain attitude towards the environment, or how you go about your business with a more personable approach than the nearest rival. But how can we communicate these internal processes effectively?

An Explainer Video to present the ethics of your small business

One of the simplest ways to show your customer base how you work from the inside is just to show a video that explains exactly what your business does from the inside. This is one step further towards transparency.

You can show the minute details, from how your workers go about their daily business or whether you outsource certain aspects to offshore companies or business IT consulting providers, the explainer video is one of the best ways to give your customers all of the information they require in an easy to digest form, but it can help put to bed some of the doubts your customers may have had about your business.

Something like outsourcing can be viewed as a questionable ethical approach, and by having an explainer video do the explaining for you, it can certainly help to alleviate a lot of the doubts.

Reaching Out To Them

It’s much easier these days to communicate directly to your customer via social media or email marketing, but you need to give thought to the personal approach too.

Speaking to customers on a face-to-face basis is a great way to reach out to them and show what your business stands for, in the most honest way possible. No flashy gimmicks or clever advertising, just your honest word.

Making your value a Part Of Your small business Branding

If you believe strong enough in a particular ethical stance, it’s important enough to put across your advertising campaign. Also consider making it part of your branding efforts.

There are so many businesses out there that have something unique to offer. Not just in terms of the product, but in the way they go about their business as well.

If you are keen to show how you do things differently to your customer, so you inspire honesty and trust, having it as part of your image turns it into one of your key selling points. You have a vision, and you have values, and this is why it needs to be communicated properly.

Every business has a hook or a way to implore the customer to buy from them. As the younger target markets are savvier than ever before, appealing to them on a more human level is vital. This is why you need to communicate transparency and your internal ethos.

Many people make the mistake of feeling like they need to hide their values and ethics so as to not come off preachy. Unfortunately, when you try and market to everyone you market to no one.

You should be a bit more firm on expressing your values and the ethics you uphold in your small business. By doing this you can actually push away people who wouldn’t be a good fit to work with you.

At the same time this will actually pull in the right people and help you create raving fans much quicker for your small business. So don’t be scared to express your high standards and values of your business.
