The first question to ask before you start buy MLM leads

Is it worth buying MLM leads? Well, there are some really crucial questions you need to ask before you decide to buy MLM leads.

The first question you need to know is how were the MLM leads generated. Sometimes when you buy MLM leads the company is just selling you names and phone numbers.

The leads aren’t actually qualified and or even interested in starting an MLM business. Sometimes these companies will offer things like raffles for a free TV, or free things that are totally irrelevant to starting a home business in order to capture the lead information.

So if the leads the company generates aren’t actually specific to people wanting to start a home business, you might just be wasting your time on people who have no interest in what you have and your MLM business.

Also, sometimes people are positioning the opportunity as getting rich quick, so when you buy these MLM leads, you are talking to people with the wrong mindset for the kind of people you actually want to work with.

More answers you need before you buy leads

Another answer you need to know before buying MLM leads is if you are the only person calling the leads. Sometimes companies sell MLM leads to 2-5 people, not just you.

This can greatly hurt your conversion rate because most people in the MLM industry lack proper training and approach people all wrong. Some of these MLM leads may have been approached poorly by multiple people. Then by the time you get to them, they could be burnt on the whole industry.

If you do buy MLM leads, make sure that they are only sold to you and no one else. That way you know that the people you are calling have fresh eyes and won’t have been approached in the wrong way.

In addition to that, you want to know how old the MLM leads are that you are buying. Some companies that sell MLM leads the leads are months old. This often comes in conjunction with the MLM leads that have been called by multiple people.

Ideally, you want to be able to respond to leads as soon as they come in. If you are buying MLM leads that “newness” might not be available to you.

When people join an MLM business it’s often due to a transition in their life. You want to hit them at the hight of the transition because your MLM business could be the solution they decide to move forward with.

The longer you wait to follow up the less likely these people will sign up. If you are buying MLM leads that are old your conversion rate will go down significantly.

There are some benefits to buy MLM leads

Building a successful MLM business definitely involves a learning curve. There is a lot of great training out there on building a successful MLM business, which you should do, but taking action is a huge part of getting through your learning curve.

Typically starting with friends and family when building your MLM business can be a great way to develop your skills and get some early results in your business. However, you might not have a huge network, or maybe you didn’t have proper training and screwed up your approach with that group.

When you buy MLM leads, it could give you a steady stream of people to talk to about your business. If you haven’t yet mastered prospecting and lead generation, buying MLM leads can at least give you people to talk to about your business.

Unfortunately, there are are a lot of downsides to buying MLM leads, and it, of course, costs money in addition to other possible negatives. For that reason, generating your own MLM leads rather than buying MLM leads is likely a better option for buying your MLM business.

Why you should generate your own leads vs buying leads

Buying leads could be an option, but generating your own MLM leads is likely a better solution and can sustain your business for years to come. Generating leads doesn’t have to be hard when you have the right skills and follow the right marketing strategies.

Something to understand is that most people do business with and join people that they know, like, and trust. When you buy MLM leads that relationship doesn’t exist. When you generate your own MLM leads, you can have a built-in know, like, and trust factor.

This is the whole reason most MLM companies tell you to talk to your friends and family first. With friends and family, you already have that know, like, and trust factor built-in. Not all of these people will join or buy, but they often at least hear you out and many are much more likely to join you vs a cold audience from buying MLM leads.

When you generate your own MLM leads, through content marketing it can establish that relationship with your leads and you will have trust and rapport built with them and your conversion rate will be much higher.

How to generate MLM leads for your business in 3 steps

One of the best ways to generate MLM leads is through attraction marketing. When you buy MLM leads and call them you are basically a “hunter,” but when you generate your own leads with attraction marketing, you become a “fisher.”

When you generate your own leads and people come to you, there is much less resistance for them joining your MLM business. The foundation of this is building your audience, engaging your audience, and then finally selling to your audience.

Building your audience is the first step. This is important because when you do, you will never run out of people to talk to. In addition to this, as your audience grows you will gain more influence and credibility, which also can help you close your leads easier and grow your business faster.

Engaging your audience is the second step and that helps you to develop a relationship with your audience. This helps you create that know, like, and trust factor with your audience, which again helps you convert those leads.

Finally, once you have built your audience and have developed a relationship at that point you can start to sell your MLM business opportunity.

Tools you need to generate leads

If you are serious about building an MLM business online and generating your own leads, you are going to need a few tools in place to do it. The foundation tools you should have are a sales funnel system, an email autoresponder, and a CRM.

With a sales funnel system, you can start to automate your lead generation process. In combination with a content marketing strategy that drives traffic to your sales funnel you can begin to generate leads on autopilot.

You’ll also want to integrate your sales funnel system with an email autoresponder. This can handle some of the initial follow up and sales process in your business. It can also allow you to send out regular broadcasts to your email list that can develop relationships with them and can convert them into sales.

Once you are getting leads, following up with them in a timely manner and tracking where they are in your sales process is essential. You do this with a CRM or customer relationship manager.
