Network Marketing Scripts For Warm Market That Actually Work
If you’ve been in your network marketing business for any amount of time you’ve probably heard some crazy network marketing scripts that are supposed to sign everyone up. Let me guess, it’s probably something like, “I love connecting with like-minded individuals such as yourself…”, BARF! The bottom line is most network marketing scripts are garbage and you come off like a sleazeball and don’t work. If you really want to build a successful network marketing business it all starts with the right approach. In today’s post, you’ll learn some network marketing scripts for warm market that actually work.
Why you should start with inviting warm market first in network marketing
One thing to understand first is the reason as to why you start prospecting warm market first in your business vs jumping into cold market recruiting. There are a number of reasons, but the first one you should understand is that you will probably be terrible in the beginning.
I know I struggled for a long time in the network marketing industry and it’s because I didn’t know how to invite and didn’t follow the right network marketing recruiting scripts. Most people even when they do have the right MLM recruiting scripts still mess it up.
The good news is, that inviting in network marketing is a skill that anyone can learn, but it’s good to practice first on your warm market, or people you know. Don’t worry about if they buy from you or join your business or not, your job is to just invite them to take a look at what you are doing.
Most people that are new in network marketing get too hung up on the yeses and nos instead of just going through the numbers. When you start with warm market and people you know you can go through the numbers quickly, start to hone your skills, and even if you mess up, they will still hear you out.
Plus with warm market there is already a built-in, know, like, and trust factor. Most people end up doing business with those that they know, like, and trust, and by starting with those people first, you usually can get a fast start in building your network marketing business.
For certain network marketing scripts to be effective you need influence
There is one thing you should keep in mind when you are approaching your warm market and using network marketing scripts and that is your level of influence with the people you are approaching. For example one of my favorite network marketing recruiting scripts is focused on just being excited and sharing something with a friend.
It might sound something like, “hey real quick, I don’t have a lot of time right now, but I’m working on something big and I’ve got something you gotta see! What are you doing tomorrow for lunch? (Nothing) Ok, great let’s grab lunch then!” Now, this is a highly effective network marketing script for warm market, but if you don’t have a lot of influence with someone it might get weird.
One of my mentors Ray Higdon talks about the idea of differentiation and how that can affect using MLM recruiting scripts. It makes a lot of sense because if you approach your warm market with network marketing scripts focused on building a business and you have no credibility with those people you won’t get many positive results.
Think about your relationship with the person you are inviting because that has a major impact on how effective the network marketing recruiting script will be. For example, if you don’t have a ton of influence with someone, you may be better off leading with the product rather than the business opportunity.
If you don’t think you have influence try starting with the opinion network marketing recruiting script
A great way to overcome the need to have influence or credibility with your network is to simply ask for people’s opinions on your network marketing business and product. Most people are delighted to give their opinions on things and it’s a great way to get people to see your network marketing business even if you don’t have credibility.
For example, you could use the network marketing recruiting script of, “Hey Sally, I’m actually working on a new project and I thought of you. I’ve always looked up to you as far as business has been concerned and I was wondering if I could get your opinion on what I’m working on? It probably wouldn’t be anything you would be into but I respect your opinion and I think you probably know other people that would be great at this.”
This is a great way to invite for your network marketing business because it uses a lot of psychology to your advantage. For one, you are using a “take away” and saying it probably isn’t for them, but they may know other people. This builds curiosity because people will wonder, why it isn’t for them, and they might seek to prove you wrong and join.
By using a “take away” it also takes the pressure off from them and they won’t feel like you are desperate and pushy. This is great because you really just want them to see the information and decide if it is for them or not from there.
Also if they say no, you can still get referrals from other people who might be interested. This means you never run out of people to talk to and your network marketing business can continue to expand.
Make sure you are choosing appropriate network marketing scripts based on your relationships with your warm market
You might be using an MLM script that works but you are using it in the wrong context based on your warm market. If you are using mlm recruiting scripts be sure to choose them based on how your warm market sees you.
If you, for example, are really close with that person and have a lot of rapport, it would be easy to use the 4 step invite, by clearing time, being excited, and setting the time and meeting up with them.
For example, using a network marketing recruiting script similar to the one above, you could say “listen I don’t have a lot of time right now, but what are you doing tonight at 7?” if they say nothing, you can follow up with “great I’m coming over, I’ve got something YOU GOTTA SEE!”.
However, if you don’t have a lot of rapport or you haven’t talked with that person for a long time this kind of network marketing script won’t really work. I see a lot of network marketing trainers teach this network marketing recruiting script because it works, but it only works in the right context.
This is where a lot of people drop the ball. They use this same network marketing script on someone they met for 5 minutes at the gas station as they do with their best friend of 30 years. You have to pay attention to your relationship first and adjust the MLM recruiting script accordingly.
See if your prospect is open first as part of your network marketing recruiting script
One of my favorite MLM recruiting scripts is to simply ask if people are open. This is great because it doesn’t matter how close the relationship you have with a person or the influence you have with them either and it still works.
This might look something like, “Hey Bob, I know we haven’t talked for a while, but I always remember you had great energy back when we used to work together. I don’t know if you are happy with everything going on with your work these days, but I was just curious if you might be open to something extra outside of that at this point? I can’t promise anything but the company I work with is going through a ton of growth right now and looking for someone to help with expansion. It may or may not be for you but I figured I would take a chance on you and reach out to see if you would be open at this point? Let me know if you are!”
Again this is a network marketing script you could use with someone you haven’t talked to in a few years. It can also be used with your close friends or even for cold market recruiting with a few adjustments.
Understand your warm market and your network marketing scripts will work better if you tailor them to the prospect
When it comes to warm market the basic idea is to find an MLM script that is relevant and to customize it for the relationship you have with the given prospect and your results will improve greatly.
The foundation of this network marketing recruiting script is the words “If I, would you?”. I first heard about this MLM recruiting script in the book Network Marketing Pro, by Eric Worre. If you haven’t read this book yet, you should, as it has a lot of great information on building a successful network marketing business. Click here to pick up a copy on Amazon.
Basically the script goes something like, “Hey Tom, I know you mentioned that you were looking for a way to spend more time with your kids without having to sacrifice your career. I’m just curious if I could show you a way to stay at home with your kids, and make the same kind of money you are now or more, would you be open to checking it out?”
The idea is to frame your invite with “If I”…could help you solve a problem…”would you” be open to seeing how. This is one of the best forms for a network marketing recruiting script because you are framing your business opportunity in a way that benefits the person you are sharing it with.
Your MLM recruiting script needs to focus on benefits for the person you are inviting
The key to a successful network marketing recruiting script is to position your invite for what your prospect is interested in. A key mistake that most new network marketers make is that they are in “pitch mode”.
They have the wrong mindset about sales, selling, and sharing their business with people. They have the mindset of how can I sell this person instead of how can I help this person.
This is a crucial mindset shift you need to have if you want to be successful in network marketing. I see too many network marketers struggle because they are just trying to sell the features of their products and business, and most people actually don’t really care.
The reality is that people buy your products or sign up in your network marketing business because of the benefits it gives them. When you shift your presentation and invite and MLM recruiting scripts to focus on what benefits your prospects will gain, you’ll have a much easier time inviting.
I’ve also found this very helpful if you don’t really feel that you like sales. “Sales” isn’t convincing people that aren’t interested in joining your business, it’s really just helping those that are open and interested to get started with something that helps them.
