Have the mentality of a dairy farmer when it comes to increasing sales in your network marketing business

Building a network marketing business is a lot like building a dairy farm. Some cows you’ll have on the farm will produce a lot of milk, others only a little.

Much like your network marketing business the dairy farm follows the 80/20 rule. Also known as the Pareto principle, the 80/20 rule basically means that out of all of your organization 20% of the people are likely going to produce around 80% of the results.

The problem comes when you as the leader try and treat the 80% of your team that isn’t as driven and motivated and treat them like the 20% who are. If you do this, it can be one of the major reasons why people quit network marketing.

Thinking back to the dairy farm, how would you treat the cows that didn’t produce a lot of milk but you wanted them to? Would you do motivational calls every day? Would you scream at them and make them feel dumb for not producing as much milk? No, you wouldn’t that would be crazy.

The reality is your job is simple to share what you have with those that are open to it. The ones that are interested will get started, and the ones that don’t that’s ok too.

Plugging into network marketing events is like being hooked up to a battery charger. Each time you go, you last a bit longer, and coming out of events, most people make more sales and do more work than usual. Getting yourself and your team plugged into the bigger events is a great way to increase sales and rank up faster in your network marketing business.

Avoid getting sucked into management mode to increase sales in your business

Management mode in network marketing is a quick way to slow down your growth. Unfortunately, most people think that this will increase sales in your network marketing business, but it actually has the opposite effect.

A common pitfall while building a network marketing business is when someone gets a couple of people started and goes from build mode to management mode. This happens because many people look at network marketing success like buying a lottery ticket.

Instead of putting in the real work that creates success, instead, they hope one or two people will bring them to the promised land. The reality is that if you want to be successful, you need to be the person who creates success.

You can’t expect that every person you recruit will be a rock star and bring in thousands of people into your organization. You can have the best products, business model, and training in place, but the vast majority of people will do nothing.

This doesn’t mean that you business doesn’t work, but more so that most people quit on everything. How many people say they want to get fit and lose weight but never do? How many people say they want to build a successful business, but never put in the effort to actually succeed?

It’s common for people to quit, so don’t expect to manage your way to success in network marketing.

Get more “cows” and lead by example in your network marketing business

The secret to success in network marketing is to lead by example and show more people. Again, look at it like the dairy farmer trying to get more milk for the farm.

Do they yell at the cows to produce more milk? Do they give them riveting motivational speeches? No, they don’t, instead, they just get more cows if they want to produce more milk.

It’s the same in building a network marketing business, management mode is like telling cows to produce more milk. Leading by example and personally sponsoring and recruiting is like getting more cows.

A key to success in network marketing is leading by example because your team will then see that it’s possible. Leading by example and continuing to make sales and bring on new team members yourself proves the business works and that can be highly motivating for most people.

Ask yourself if your team did what you did today, how would your business be doing? If the answer is terrible, you might want to get back into action. The most effective way to increase sales is to focus on your daily actions and run with the people willing to run.

Finally, increase your skills to increase your sales in network marketing

As a final note, you want to continue to increase your skills if you want to increase your sales.
